For this year’s Rossnowlagh Intercounties Surfing poster I have chosen to do a reprint of a poster by my brother Conor. The fact is, before I started down this poster road, CB had already started the tradition, probably in 1970. In 1972 CB was away on workplace training to be a hotel manager in Switzerland & older bro Brian asked me to do one for the intercounties, which i did. However, unknownst to us, CB had been working away on this 1970s styled gem. So, that year we ended up with 2 posters! I love Conor’s 1972 poster so much that I used it again in 1979 & in 1993.
UPDATE from Scott: “What a lovely tribute to my dearest friend. I have a copy rolled up in my office. Conor drew this up in our hostel accommodation by the control tower at Shannon Airport. Sadly the ink on his pen dropped onto her forehead just as he was finishing the poster and he had to leave it there as if it was an Indian Caste Mark.”
